New York City Bistro Award winner Michael Hughes has performed on stages around the world from Canada to Japan, Scotland to the USA. 

 

His professional debut came at the age of nine when he was cast as Jacob in the Canadian premiere of the musical Another Kind Of Hero.

 

Most recently, Michael appeared in Timeshare Performance's Box 4901 (2020 Dora Award nomination, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble).

 

Michael is the writer and star of the internationally acclaimed, Canadian Comedy Award-nominated, Mickey & Judy (2019 Betty Mitchell Award nomination, Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical). Other theatre credits include Plaid Tidings (Sudbury Theatre Centre); Rapunzel's Prince in Into The Woods, Pirates of Penzance, She Loves Me (Thousand Islands Playhouse); Happy Together 1967, Portia, VPP Christmas Jamboree (Victoria Playhouse Petrolia); Dean Hyde in All Shook Up (Theatre North West); Gilbert Blythe in the hit Canadian musical, Anne and Gilbert. TV: "The Rick Mercer Report", "Reign", "Mayday", "Odd Squad", "Mrs. America", "The Untitled The Boys Spinoff". 

 

A sought-after cabaret and concert performer, Michael was a featured guest of Grammy Award-winning producer David Foster on his sold-out North American arena tour, David Foster & Friends. He was also the principal vocalist for The National Ballet of Canada's West Side Story Suite, and his self-titled album received a Toronto Independent Music Award nomination for Best Adult Contemporary Album.
