New York City Bistro Award winner Michael Hughes has performed on stages around the world from Canada to Japan, Scotland to the USA. 

 

His professional debut came at the age of ten when he was cast as Jacob in the Canadian premiere of the musical Another Kind Of Hero.

 

Other theatre credits include Gilbert Blythe in the hit Canadian musical, Anne and Gilbert; Dean Hyde in All Shook Up (Theatre North West); Rapunzel's Prince in Into The Woods, Pirates of Penzance, She Loves Me (Thousand Islands Playhouse); Happy Together 1967, Portia, VPP Christmas Jamboree (Victoria Playhouse Petrolia). Most recently, Michael appeared as Jinx in Sudbury Theatre Centre's Plaid Tidings. TV: "The Rick Mercer Report", "Reign", "Mayday", "Odd Squad Mobile Unit", "Mrs.America". 

 

A sought after cabaret and concert performer, Michael was a featured guest of Grammy Award-winning producer, David Foster, on his sold-out North American arena tour, David Foster & Friends.  He was also the principal vocalist for The National Ballet of Canada's West Side Story Suite at the Four Seasons Centre. 

 

Michael is the writer and star of the internationally acclaimed, Canadian Comedy Award nominated, Mickey & Judy. In 2019, Michael was nominated for the Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical for his performance in the Lunchbox Theatre production.
